Frequently Asked Questions on Auto Collision Repair
How do I choose an auto body repair center?
Nevada state law provides you with the right to take your vehicle wherever you want for repairs. Collision repair work isn’t something most people purchase on a regular basis. Here are things to consider:
* Lowest estimate doesn’t make the best choice
Initial estimates usually only detail the visual damage. There is almost always moredamage discovered after the vehicle is disassembled and inspected thoroughly. Estimates from Sudden Impact are free and include all damage, seen and unseen.
* Pay attention to customer service
Choose a car repair shop that treats you with respect. Sudden Impact Auto Body Shop explains the estimate thoroughly and explains the insurance claims process to you. We have 35 years’ experience in collision repair. We know what it takes to get you back on the road. We’ll show you cars awaiting delivery and offer references of car dealers, insurance agents or customers that we’ve worked with.
What do I do with the check from my car insurance company?
Our policy requires payment in full at the time of vehicle delivery. Depositing a check from the insurance company into your account may cause a delay in delivery while waiting for the check to clear the bank. We recommend you endorse your insurance check to Sudden Impact Auto Body after repairs are completed to your satisfaction. You are responsible for any difference. Once payment has been made in full, you’re ready to get back on the road and on with your life.
When will my vehicle repairs be completed?
We understand what a huge inconvenience it is to be without your vehicle. Our goal is to deliver quality on time, every time. We need to take time to completely and systematically dismantle your vehicle, methodically inspect every part for damage, have your insurance company come to view the damage and provide their appraisal, and order parts. Once those things have been completed, we can give you an estimate on completion date. We will keep you informed of our progress from the time you drop off your vehicle until we’re done, so you know progress is being done.
What types of auto body parts do you use?
Sudden Impact Auto Body prefers to use OEM (original equipment manufacturer) parts made by or for the manufacturer of your vehicle. These are equivalent to the original parts on your vehicle. Insurance companies set their own policies on parts they cover. Sometimes they only approve new after market parts, which are copies of the OEM parts. They tend to be of lesser quality than OEM parts. If you prefer OEM parts, you can speak to your insurance adjuster for authorization. If you would like to find out more about OEM parts you can visit our article here.
How do I pay for my vehicle repairs?
Sudden Impact Auto Body accepts personal checks, cash, Visa, MasterCard and insurance checks endorsed to us. All repairs must be paid in full at the time of vehicle delivery.
Is it okay to leave my personal belongings in the trunk?
Please remove all of your belongings and valuables from the vehicle. During the auto repair process, our technicians will need trouble-free access to all areas of your vehicle as it gets disassembled, repaired, painted and reassembled. Your golf clubs and beach chair are better off when stored at home.
Do you offer rental car assistance?
Yes, we’re happy to help you find a rental vehicle. There are multiple rental agencies conveniently located near our facility. Once you drop off your vehicle at our shop, we contact the rental company of your choice to pick you up and get into a rental car.
